The Physical Ethereality of Fragrance - Perfume bottle

Hand blown glass, clear and stardust blue The top drop functions as a bottle closure and the test tube as a liquid container. 16cm X 5cm
£0.00

The Physical Ethereality of Fragrance bottle was inspired by the apothecary bottles in Damien Hirst's Pharmacy in 1992. Zaniol says: "This bottle had to be ultra-minimal but also signify a sense of suspense and ineluctability, something that is trademark of H&D. I, therefore, developed a combination of traditional chemistry shapes: a flask and a test tube. The hard part was adding a hint of elegance and ethereality, and I think that the suspended tube achieves this effect".

The Physical Ethereality of Fragrance perfume is infused with the cold, steely smell of cucumber, mint and myrrh. Although this perfume was made specifically for Brand Art Sensation, it is not available for sale, but you could get in touch to meet Giulia Zaniol and have a sniff.

Brand Art Sensation and Zaniol Ltd are devoted to art and cultural critique. The aim of this project is to highlight the commodification tendency of some contemporary artworks and the brand stretching principles that some galleries and artists have borrowed from luxury goods marketing strategies. Zaniol discusses here a global art market phenomenon through an artistic study (any reference to contemporary artists is her imaginative interpretation).

Damien Hirst NOT endorsed, approved or vetted this fictional advert, the perfume bottle or any part of Brand Art Sensation which is published by Zaniol Ltd. a limited company devoted to art, education, and design.
