The making of the perfumes bottle Spunk!

I knew it was going to be very hard to covey Tracey Emin extraordinary storytelling skills and absorbing sensibility in a bottle, so I concentrated on what the public still associates with her: her initial provocative and explicit works. (http://dailym.ai/1vmXYdC or http://bit.ly/1AApJ7U).

She is the most financially successful and popular woman artist in the UK, but most of the initial media attention that she received was due to her controversial behaviour and her outspoken language. Making a vagina perfume bottle would have symbolised a femininity that is inevitably her gender, but not so obviously part of her being a woman artist. She is one of the strongest women in the UK and to overcome her difficult background; she has described and reflected openly on the sexual violence that she experienced as a young woman. As someone that has managed to turn these sad and cruel experiences into a great artistic career and artwork, I thought that interpreting her 'brand essence" with a phallic symbol would symbolise her background and storytelling better than anything else.
